Emergency numbers for Manotick
If anyone is in danger, if you can smell gas, or if a power line is down, call 911 first. Everything below is for the situations that are urgent but not that — no water at two in the morning, a septic alarm, a furnace that has quit in February. Out here most of them come back to a well, a septic bed or a propane tank, which is why the city's advice usually does not fit.
The numbers worth having before you need them
| Situation | Number | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Life, fire, gas smell, downed line | 911 | Ambulance, fire and police. A downed power line is a 911 call — stay at least 10 metres back. |
| Enbridge Gas emergency | 1-866-763-5427 | Smell of gas: leave the building first, then call from outside. |
| Hydro Ottawa outage | 613-738-0188 | Most of the village. Text OUT to 797688, or the live map at outages.hydroottawa.com. |
| Hydro One outage | 1-800-434-1235 | Some rural lines around the village. Your bill says which utility you are on. |
| Health advice, 24/7 | 811 | A registered nurse, any hour, on whether this needs the emergency room. The service is called Health811. |
| Ottawa Police, non-emergency | 613-236-1222 | TTY 613-232-1123. For anything that is not happening right now. |
| City services | 311 | Potholes, ditches, garbage, by-law, streetlights. Also online through the City at ottawa.ca. |
| Mental health and addictions, 24/7 | 1-866-531-2600 | ConnexOntario. |
| Septic permits, inspections and complaints | 613-692-3571 | Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, which is the septic authority out here. |
What to check, in order
Four pages written for how houses fail out here, each one the ten minutes of triage that either saves you an emergency call-out or tells you to make one now.
Who answers out of hours
Every business on this site whose own website states a 24-hour or after-hours line, across the trades that fail at night. A tag here means the business publishes the claim — we have not called them at 2am to check, so confirm when you ring. Emergency and after-hours rates are higher than the daytime figures on the price pages; ask for the call-out charge before they roll. Nobody is placed here for money.

This is not an emergency service
manotick.co is a directory. Nobody here is on call, no message sent through this site reaches anyone at night, and we are not a party to any work you hire. In a real emergency call 911 or the utility directly, then use this page to find who fixes it in the morning. Confirm licence and insurance with any business before it starts work.
