Restaurants in Manotick

For a village its size, Manotick eats genuinely well — a walkable core of independent spots along Manotick Main Street, no chains doing the heavy lifting, and patio season on the Rideau doing what patio season on a river does. Here is the full list, with addresses, rather than the four places that turn up first in a search.

The Main Street core

Most of the village's dining sits on a few walkable blocks of Manotick Main Street. The Mill Tavern at 5544 Manotick Main Street is the classic pub-by-the-mill; Black Dog Bistro next door at 5540 is the reliable date-night table (closed Sundays, kitchen closes 9:30). Creekside Bar & Grill is at 5511, Heist at 5539, and Angelina Italian at 5530. For mornings, Morning Owl sits at Bridge and Main and 692 Coffee and Bar at 5546.

Beyond the core

Babbos Cucina is the village Italian, and worth flagging because listings routinely place it wrong: it is at 1160 Beaverwood Road, not on Main Street, and closed Mondays. Wing Lee Take Out is at 990 River Road, a genuine local fixture. The Swan on the Rideau at 2730 River Road is the waterside option south of the village. And Miller's Oven at 1137 Mill Street is the institution only a real village sustains — a non-profit tea room run by a volunteer board and about fifty volunteers, mostly seniors and students, open Tuesday through Saturday roughly 9am to 3pm. The Gingerbread Man on Tighe Street rounds out the bakery side.

Coffee — including the Starbucks

Yes, there is a Starbucks in Manotick. It opened in May 2025 at 5650 Manotick Main Street, with a café and a drive-thru, and it is store number 83740. Plenty of older pages online still say a Starbucks was proposed but not approved — that was accurate in 2023, when only the zoning amendment had passed, and it has been out of date for well over a year. There is no Second Cup.

What is easy to miss is that the rest of the village's coffee is independent, and there is more of it than a drive-thru suggests.

What the village does not have

We looked specifically, and found none of these in Manotick: a sushi restaurant, a shawarma shop, a brewery, or a regular food truck. If a search result promises one, check the address — it will be Barrhaven or Riverside South. Two other corrections worth making because directories get them wrong: The Gingerbread Man on Tighe Street is a hand-crafted gingerbread art business, not a bakery or café, and Creekside Bar & Grill occupies what used to be Hard Stones Grill, which is why older listings point at the same address under the wrong name.

Worth knowing

Weekend brunch tables and summer patios book up faster than city visitors expect; reserving is the local habit, not an affectation. Hours shift seasonally at the waterside spots in particular, so call rather than trusting a listing. And a short drive opens up the broader rural dining loop — North Gower, Osgoode, and Kars each keep a spot or two worth the trip.
