What this site is

manotick.co is an independent local publication and directory. It is not a trade business. It does not perform plumbing, HVAC, electrical, septic, inspection, real-estate, medical or any other service, and it is not an agent, employer, partner or guarantor of any business listed.

Every provider named here is an independent business. Any contract you enter is between you and that business. The buttons on a listing dial the business's own published number or open its own website; manotick.co is not on the call, does not receive or forward your details, does not introduce you, and is not a party to any work, quote, warranty, payment or dispute that follows.

A listing, a "first call" pick, a comparison or a profile is an editorial opinion formed from the business's own published information on a stated date. It is not an endorsement, a certification, a referral, a recommendation that the business is suitable for your job, or a statement that any licence, insurance or credential is current. Verify all of it yourself before hiring: Ontario's ESA licensed contractor lookup, the TSSA, WSIB clearance certificates and proof of liability insurance are the checks that matter, and none of them can be done by a website.

Prices are estimates

The rate tables are planning estimates for budgeting. They are not quotes, appraisals, valuations, or offers, and nobody is bound by them. Confirm scope, price, tax, permits, licence, insurance and contract terms directly with the business, in writing, before work starts.

Not professional advice

Nothing here is medical, legal, financial, engineering, real-estate or inspection advice. The health pages are directory information only. The emergency guides are general information written for this area, not instructions for your specific situation.

This is not an emergency service

Accuracy

We check what we publish and log our corrections in public, but businesses close, move, change hands, change prices and let credentials lapse without telling us. We do not warrant that any information here is current, complete or error-free, and we do not warrant any business's availability, workmanship or outcome. Third-party sites we link to are not ours to control.

Links to other sites

Links to businesses, agencies and reservation systems open sites we do not operate and cannot vouch for. Their content, prices, availability, privacy practices and security are theirs.

Liability

The site is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, manotick.co and the people who run it are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, cost or delay — direct, indirect, incidental or consequential — arising from the use of this site, from reliance on anything published here, or from your dealings with any business, agency or site found through it, and nothing here creates a duty beyond publishing carefully and correcting promptly. By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not, do not use it. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.

Editorial opinion, comparisons and badges

Every "first call", "one of three picks", comparison table, "what sets them apart" line and badge is an opinion of the editors, formed on the criteria published on this site from facts each business publishes about itself on the date stated. Where the site records what a business says about itself, it is quoting or paraphrasing that business's own public statements and has not independently verified them. A business that is not named, or not named first, has not been judged deficient; the site lists a small number of businesses per category and does not claim to have assessed every business in the area. No rating, review or ranking of quality is published or collected.

Intellectual property and licences

The text, tables, illustrations and data on manotick.co are © the operator of the site, except as noted here. Business names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the business; nothing on this site implies that any business sponsors, endorses or is affiliated with manotick.co. REALTOR® is a trademark of the Canadian Real Estate Association; the site uses "real estate agent" as its generic term and names REALTOR.ca only as a website. Photographs credited to Wikimedia Commons contributors are used under the Creative Commons licence stated in each caption, have been cropped and resized, and the cropped versions are available under the same licence; the full list is on the credits page. Map tiles and the coordinates behind the directory map are © OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL; the map library is Leaflet (BSD-2-Clause). Images marked "AI-generated illustration" were produced with an image model, depict no real place, person or business, and are labelled as such wherever they appear.

Notice, correction and removal

If you believe anything on this site is inaccurate, out of date, infringes a right you hold, or concerns you or your business and should be corrected or removed, email hello@manotick.co with the page address and what is wrong. Requests about safety, a phone number, an address or a closure are actioned the same day; every other request is acknowledged within two business days and resolved within seven. A business or a named person may have its listing removed on request without giving a reason. Substantive fixes are logged with the date on the corrections page. Notice under the Libel and Slander Act (Ontario) may be given to the same address.

Schedules, hours, prices and events

Hours, prices, ticket prices, game schedules, event dates and rebate programmes are reproduced from the organisation's own published information on the date stated and change without notice to us. Confirm with the organisation before you rely on any of them. manotick.co has no connection with, and sells nothing on behalf of, any team, venue, event or business it describes.

The emergency and how-to guides

The no-heat, no-water, septic, power-outage and maintenance guides describe checks a homeowner can make without tools or training and say when to stop and call a licensed trade. Anything involving gas, propane, oil, a breaker panel beyond resetting a breaker, a pressure vessel, a septic tank lid, or working at height is a job for a licensed professional — in Ontario, a TSSA-certified gas technician, an ESA-licensed electrical contractor, a licensed plumber or a licensed septic installer. If you smell gas, see a downed line or have sewage backing up, leave the area and call 911 or the utility before anything else. Following any guide is at your own risk.

Accessibility

The site aims at WCAG 2.1 AA and is tested against it as far as we can: keyboard-navigable, no content that depends on colour alone, captions on every image, tables with headers. If something here does not work for you, email hello@manotick.co and it will be fixed.

Affiliation

manotick.co is not affiliated with the City of Ottawa, the Manotick BIA, the Manotick Village and Community Association, the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, or any regulator, unless a page expressly says otherwise.
