Last reviewed 20 September 2026. Corrections: /corrections/
This notice says what manotick.co collects, why, who it goes to, and how to get it corrected or removed. It is written to Canada's federal private-sector privacy law (PIPEDA), and it describes what the site does today — not what it might do later. If a form, newsletter or any new collection is ever added, this page changes first.
Who is accountable
The operator of this site is accountable for personal information handled here. The privacy contact is hello@manotick.co; that address is read by a person and privacy requests are answered within 30 days.
What is collected, and why
Nothing you type. The site has no forms, no accounts, no newsletter, no comments and no call or text relay. Every button on a listing dials the business's own published number or opens its own website, and what happens from there is between you and them; manotick.co is not on the call and receives nothing from it.
Ordinary request data. Serving a web page produces the usual server and CDN records — IP address, browser type, page requested, timestamp. Cloudflare, which hosts and serves the site, holds these for its normal operational purposes; the site keeps no separate log of visitors.
Cookieless analytics. Each page loads a small script from Ahrefs Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and reports aggregated page-view counts by page, country and referrer. It does not identify you and is not shared with any listed business.
The map. The directory page draws its map from OpenStreetMap tile servers. When that page loads, your browser requests map images directly from the OpenStreetMap Foundation, which sees your IP address and browser type under its own privacy policy. No other page does this. The "Map" buttons beside listings are plain links that open Google Maps only if you click them.
Email you send. If you write to hello@manotick.co — a correction, a listing request, a privacy request — we keep the thread for as long as the matter is open and for a year afterwards, so a correction can be traced. Nothing from it is published without asking you.
What is not collected
No cookies set by this site. No advertising trackers. No cross-site profiling. No call recording. No payment details. No medical, symptom or health-intake information — the health pages are directory information only. No location data beyond what your browser sends with any request.
Who it goes to
Nobody, for any purpose of ours. The service providers that process request data to run the site are:
| Provider | Role | Where | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosting, CDN, edge security | Global edge; headquartered in the United States | In use |
| Ahrefs Web Analytics | Cookieless, aggregated page-view counts | Singapore | In use |
| OpenStreetMap Foundation | Map tiles on the directory page | United Kingdom | In use, on /directory/ only |
| Supabase, Resend, Stripe, Twilio | Provisioned for a possible future newsletter, forms and listing payments | United States | Configured, not enabled — nothing is sent to them |
These providers operate outside Canada, so request data handled by them may be stored or processed in another country and can be subject to the laws of that country. They are used only to run the site's own functions.
How long it is kept
Cloudflare request logs: per Cloudflare's retention, not ours to extend. Analytics: aggregated counts only, indefinitely; nothing per-person exists to delete. Email: the life of the matter plus one year.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email hello@manotick.co and we respond within 30 days. Because the site holds nothing per-person beyond email you chose to send, the usual answer is "nothing", and the email itself is deleted on request. If you are not satisfied with a response you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
People named on the site
The site names business owners, professionals and practitioners in their business capacity — a name, business title, business address and business phone number as the business itself publishes them. That is business contact information, which PIPEDA treats differently from personal information, and it is published so that residents can reach the business. If you are named and want a listing corrected or removed, email hello@manotick.co; removal requests from the business or the person named are actioned within two business days and logged on the corrections page.
Safeguards
The site is served over HTTPS with a strict content-security policy that allows scripts only from this site, Ahrefs Web Analytics and inline code the build has hashed; images only from this site and the OpenStreetMap tile server. There is no database behind the public site.
