Retirement living in Manotick

Manotick has one full retirement residence and one seniors' apartment building, both in the village core and both run by the same operator, and it has no long-term-care home. That is the whole picture, and it is worth stating plainly because the searches for it are common and the listings sites pad it out with homes in Barrhaven and Kemptville. Everything below is from the operators' own sites, checked September 2026.

Manotick Place Retirement Community

1145 Bridge Street, 613-692-2121 — manotickplaceretirement.ca. A riverfront retirement residence on the Rideau in the village, operated by Glendelle Retirement Living. Its site describes independent living and assisted living suites, with respite, trial and seasonal stays, and states 24-hour nursing on site. It does not state a suite count or a dedicated memory-care floor, so ask about both directly if either matters. It is a private-pay retirement home under Ontario's Retirement Homes Act, which is a different thing from a long-term-care home — see below.

The Miller seniors' apartments

5510 Dickinson Street — glendelleretirementliving.ca. Seniors' apartments in the heart of the village, also operated by Glendelle, and described by the operator as an active, independent community. The only phone published is the operator's corporate line, 416-900-0895; a unit count is not stated.

What Manotick does not have

There is no long-term-care home in Manotick. Long-term care in Ontario is publicly funded, admission runs through Ontario Health atHome (formerly the LHIN home and community care service), and the wait is for a bed in a licensed home elsewhere in Ottawa, not for anything in the village. If the need is nursing-level care rather than supported independence, that is the path, and the earlier the assessment starts the better. Note also that the Blue Haven that appears in Manotick search results is a cannabis store at 990 River Road, not a residence.

Staying in your own house instead

Most people asking this question are trying to avoid the move, and out here the practical obstacles are the ones this site exists for: a well and septic that need looking after, a long driveway that needs plowing, a generator so an outage is not an emergency. Home-care and foot-care options in the village are on the health page, and the maintenance calendar is the list of what has to happen each season for a rural house to stay easy to live in.

A licensed cannabis retail store at 990 River Road — not a retirement residence, despite how it reads in a search for seniors' housing.
